You can get into the Christmas spirit by helping Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus collect toys for local children at Louisville’s City Hall.  The ornate government building at Sixth and Jefferson Streets will now become “Santa’s Workshop South” for the next 10 days as Councilwoman Jessica Green and Councilman Kelly Downard team up, encouraging people to donate new, unwrapped toys for the children of women incarcerated at the Pee Wee Valley Correction Center.

As an added treat, on Wednesday, December 9th and Thursday, December 10th, “Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus,” aka, Councilmembers Green and Downard, will be collecting toys in person at the corner of Sixth and Jefferson from 7:30a.m. - 9:00a.m. Everyone who donates a toy will receive a donut donated by the newest Dunkin Donuts, location at 312 South 4th Street, and will also receive a delicious cup of Heine Brothers Coffee from their Schnitzelburg location at 822 Eastern Pkwy.

The Toy Drive will run from Thursday, December 2nd to Friday December 11th, where donated toys can be dropped off on the first floor of City Hall, during regular business hours 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  While all toy donations are appreciated, gifts should not include any toys connected to violence or weapons of any sort.
